今天家裡的 microwave (oven) 跟 refrigerator 突然跳電，正在想說要如何跟 landlord 說明這件事，於是就上網查了一下，原來跳電可以這麼說 :

The breaker has tripped.  （開關跳電）

The electric power was tripped off.  （電力跳電）

I think the fuse blew.  （保險絲燒斷了）

也可以說 :

The power went off suddenly.
We are without power.
We have a black out now.

如果要求救的話 : 

I have no electricity now. Could you send someone to take a look at the electrical switchboard !

Vocabularies : 

(1) trip 的名詞是旅行，不過這邊當動詞意思是 "絆倒"

(2) fuse = 保險絲

(3) circuit breaker = a divice that can automatically stop an electric current if

     it becomes dangerous 

P.S. : 

"electrical switchboard" 可以簡化成 "switchboard"

"circuit breaker" also can be simply "breaker"

short circuit 是短路，只是跳電其中一個原因，負載過大也會跳電喔 !
